Cruise Control Design/Task/Function

Task
Maintaining the preselected vehicle speed at a constant level irrespective of engine load without the accelerator being depressed.

Function
The cruise control function is integrated in the IFI control module (N3/7) or DFI control module (N3/8), respectively. It can be activated with the cruise control switch (S40) from > 40 km/h.
Actuation is performed directly by the IFI control module (N3/7) to the fuel metering control (Y23/1) or by the DFI control module (N3/8) to the DFI distributor injection pump (Y23/2).

The cruise control is switched off by:
- Operating the cruise control switch (S4O)
- Applying the service brakes
- Shifting selector lever into position "N"
