Operating Instructions
Removing valve keepers1. Remove all necessary components to expose valve spring retainers, utilize known methods to prevent valves from falling into cylinders, sharply strike valve spring retainers with mandrel (2, Figure 1)
2. Install guide sleeve (10 for OM601/OM 602 or 11 for M111). Mount appropriate anchor footing in existing threaded holes in cylinder head.
3. Insert mounting element (8 for M111 or 9 for OM601/OM 602), attach adjustable anchor (18) and lever arm (6) and let rest on studs of mounting element.
4. Turn adjustment screw clockwise while gently pressing down with lever arm (6) until inner alignment shaft noticeably engages between the valve keepers.
5. Press down on mounting element (8 or 9) with lever arm (6) until it bottoms out.
6. Slowly release tension, valve keepers are now secured in the mounting element.
7. For diesel engines use guide sleeve (11) and mounting element (9) and follow steps 4., 5., 6.
Installing valve keepers
1. Insert mounting element (8 or 9) and press down on adjustment screw and lever arm (6), simultaneously, until it bottoms Out.
2. Continue pressing down on lever arm and lift up adjustment screw. Valve keepers are installed.
3. Release tension and remove mounting element.
