Engine Stop Function
Ignition "OFF"
The coil (Y1/1b) is no longer actuated by the IFI control module (N3/7). The spring (19/3) pushes the solenoid armature (Y1/1a) together with the valve rod (19/6) in direction "A". Both valves (19/4) are thus moved into "STOP" position.
Suction side
When the engine is shut off, the fuel is drawn off out of the suction chamber of the IFI inline injection pump (10) through the IFI electrohydraulic shutoff (Y1/1) by the fuel pump (13).
Delivery side
The fuel drawn off is pumped back through the fuel full-flow filter (70/2), the IFI electrohydraulic shutoff (Y1/1), the fuel prefilter (70/1) and the fuel heat exchanger (60) into the fuel tank (80).
As a result of the fuel being drawn out of the suction chamber of the IFI inline injection pump (10), the feed drillings of the pump elements are no longer supplied with fuel and injection is stopped.
