Function
Crankshaft position and engine speed are detected contactlessly.
The front and rear edges of the segments (a) at the flywheel produce an alternating voltage (induction) in the crankshaft position sensor (L5/6) when the engine is running
Higher engine speed = higher voltage
A number of segments (a) corresponds to the number of cylinders in the engine.
