IFI Deceleration Mode Task/Design/Function

Design
Model 202 up to 11/94

Model 202 as of 12/94, model 210

Task
Reducing the quantity of fuel injected to zero during inertia fuel shutoff (zero delivery).

Function
The IFI control module (N3/7) is supplied with an input signal by the IFI/DFI crankshaft position sensor (L5/6) and IFI/DFI position sensor (R25/2) and supplies an output signal to the IFI fuel metering control (Y23/1). During inertia fuel shutoff and when the accelerator pedal is not depressed, and also at an engine speed of > 1500 rpm, the fuel rack travel is limited to < 1 mm by the IFI fuel metering control (Y23/1). As a result, the quantity injected is reduced to zero.
