Front Airbags/Sidebags and Emergency Belt Retractors

Triggering Logic For Driver/Front Passenger Airbags/Sidebags and Emergency Tensioning Retractors

In a minor collision for which the protective effect of the seat belts is sufficient, only the emergency tensioning retractors are actuated when the first trigger threshold is exceeded and the buckle latch is inserted in the belt buckle.
When the first trigger threshold is exceeded and the buckle latch is not inserted, the driver airbag is always actuated. The front passenger airbag is triggered upon exceeding the first trigger threshold when the buckle latch is not inserted only when the signal "front passenger seat occupied" from the occupied seat recognition sensor is present in the control module for the emergency tensioning retractor with airbag.
Upon exceeding the second trigger threshold the driver airbag is always triggered The front passenger airbag is triggered when the second trigger threshold is exceeded only when the signal "front passenger seat occupied" from the occupied seat recognition sensor is present on the control module for the emergency tensioning retractor with airbag.
The driver sidebag is always triggered when the left sidebag sensor recognizes a side collision.
The passenger sidebag is triggered only when the right sidebag sensor recognizes a side collision and simultaneously the signal "front passenger seat occupied" from the occupied seat recognition sensor is present on the control module for the emergency tensioning retractor with airbag.
