Purpose

In the event of a side collision the side airbag sensors (A53/1 and A54/1) sense the deceleration/acceleration effecting the vehicle in the lateral direction and start a plausibility check in the airbag control module (N2/7). If the values are plausible on actuation signal is transmitted to the associated side airbags/window airbags.
