Alternator: Service and Repair

Removing, installing
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery


CAUTION: On model 210, insulate cable lug of ground cable as a protection against unintentional contact of the disconnected ground cable with the ground point W10.


2 Slacken poly V-belt and take it off at generator
- Engine 104
- Engine 111
- Engine 611
- Engines 602, 604, 605, 606

3.1 Remove bottom engine compartment panel


NOTE: Only with gasoline engines.


3.2 Remove bottom parts of noise encapsulation


NOTE: Only with diesel engine


4 Remove charge air manifold
5 Remove protection against accidental contact (4)


NOTE: If installed.


6 Disconnect electric cables (1,2)
- Only with gasoline engines.
- Refer to Generators 1 below

- Refer to Generators 1 below

7 Unscrew bolts (3)
- Only with gasoline engines.
- Refer to Generators 1 below

- Only with diesel engine
- Refer to Generators 1 below

8 Remove generator (G2) downwards
9 Install in the reverse order
