Enabling Engine Control, Function
System Interlinkage
After the ignition is switched on power is supplied to the transponder. The contents of the data block is transferred inductively from the transponder via the transponder coil (L11) to the radio frequency DAS control module (N54/3) where it is evaluated.
If valid the engine control is released analog to drive authorization system 2b via the CAN data bus from radio frequency DAS(N54/1) to the engine control module.
If the transponder is not valid or power cannot be built up for the transponder, the engine control is not released. This is displayed with the message "START ERROR" in the instrument cluster.
NOTE: Drive authorization is independent of the locking status of the infrared remote control and the batteries in the IR remote control key.
