Removing, Installing Guide Rail In Cylinder Head






1 Remove front cover (23) at the cylinder head
2 Position piston of cylinder 1 to 20 degrees after ignition TDC (arrow)
- Rotate engine at front of crankshaft in normal direction of rotation

3 Lock inlet camshaft (75), exhaust camshaft (78) in place with positioning pins (01) (arrows)
4 Remove chain tensioner (14)

CAUTION: If the complete chain tensioner (14) is slackened, it must be removed, disassembled and re-assembled, as described.

5 Unbolt guide rail (70), take off Timing chain drive as-built description
6 Install in the reverse order.
