The switch signal from the door switches (S17/3, S17/4) or trunk lid rotary tumbler/trunk lamp toggle switch (S69/12) travels from the PSE control module (A37) via the CAN data bus to the multi-function control module (N10-3) This latter switches on the front dome lamp (E15/1).

When the vehicle is opened with the infrared remote control the multi-function control module (N10-3) receives a signal from the IR DAS control module (N54/1) and switches on the front dome lamp (E15/1).

After closing the doors and trunk lid the multi-function control module (N10-3) switches off the front dome lamp after a delay of approx. 10s. Switch-off is accomplished immediately after "circuit 15 ON".

The front dome lamp (E15/1) is switched on and off with a soft dimming feature.

After it has been switched on for 5 min. the multi-function control module (N10-3) switches the lamp off when one of the doors is open and the switch is in the position "door switch ON".

If the signal "ATA alarm ON " is received by the PSE control module (A37), the front dome lamp (E15/1) switches on when the door contact switch in the front dome lamp (E15/1) is in the "ON" position.

The trunk lamp (E18/l) is connected in parallel to the front dome lamp (E15/1). This means that the trunk lamp (E18/1) comes on when one of the doors is opened as well as that the front dome lamp (E15/1) comes on when the trunk is opened.
