Headlamp Cleaning System (Hcs)
Function Description of Headlamp Cleaning System
Component network
The headlamp cleaning system can be activated with a separate switch (S4/1). When this button is pressed the headlamp washer pump (M5/2) receives a switch-on signal from the cycling module (N65).
Prerequisite: Terminal 15 ON. The nozzles move out against the spring force at a pressure of 1 - 1.6 bar. When a pressure of 3 bar is reached, a valve opens and the water is sprayed on to the headlamp lenses. The length of the washing signal is approx. 1 s. Actuation of the headlamp washer pump (M5/2) is interrupted by the cycling module (N65), the pressure decreases and the nozzles are retracted by the springs. If the switch (S4/1) is actuated continuously or repeatedly a new washing signal is not started as long as the headlamp cleaning operation is in progress.
