Actuation of Soft Top System Indicator Lamp, Function




The indicator lamp in the power soft top switch (S84) serves to indicate the status and function of the soft top. The indicator lamp is integrated into the power soft top switch (S84) and is controlled by the rollbar/soft top operation control module (N52). The indicator lamp signals as follows:

Continuous illumination when switch is pressed:
- During soft top opening operation from the time the soft top is unlocked until the soft top compartment cover is locked.
- During soft top closing operation from the time the switch is pressed until the soft top is locked.
- During subsequent locking.

Continuous illumination when switch is not pressed:
- For 1 second following "ignition ON", to check function.
- When soft top operation control module (N52) or the fuse for circuit 30 is defective.
- When the soft top or soft top compartment cover is not properly locked.
- In the event of a defect or line discontinuity to the power soft top switch (S84).

Lamp flashes when switch is pressed:
Flashing frequency = 1 Hz:
- When vehicle is operated and soft top not locked.
- Attempting to open the soft top by pressing the power soft top switch (S84), even though it has not been released manually.
- When system malfunctions occur.

Flashing frequency = 3 Hz:
- When trunk lid is open
- When trunk partition is not closed.

Lamp flashes when switch is not actuated:
- When vehicle is operated and soft top is not properly locked (flashing frequency =1 Hz).
