Moving Seat Forward
Model 208 with CODE (275b) Memory package (driver's seat, rearview mirrors)
Function sequence illustrated on left front seat in vehicle with left-hand steering
Pulling the backrest release handle releases the backrest and actuates the left front seatback release microswitch (S91/3). The backrest can then be folded forward. Actuation of the backrest release microswitch is read in by the driver-side ESA control module (N32/1). The ESA control module then moves the head restraint to the bottom stop. This prevents the head restraint from hitting against the headliner when the backrest is folded forward. Moreover, the ESA control module actuates the seatback release motor (M27m8) so that the backrest remains unlocked even after the backrest release handle is released.
When the backrest is folded forward the driver-side power seat switch (S91/2) closes. This is recognized by the driver-side ESA control module (N32/1). The ESA control module then actuates the seat fore/aft motor (M27m1) in the left front ESA motor group (M27) in speed stage 2. The seat moves forward. Upon reaching the front end position, i.e. 80 mm in front of the front mechanical stop, the driver-side ESA control module (N32/1) switches off the longitudinal drive and the seatback release motor (M27m8). The backrest is then locked in the forward folded position.
The feature operates analog on the right front seat.
