Task
The ABS hydraulic unit (A7/3) carries out the control functions of the braking moment control circuit.

All the ABS switching components are combined in the ABS hydraulic unit (A7/3)

For control, one 2/2-way valve is used for the pressure buildup/holding or pressure holding/reduction function for each wheel on the front axle. Common valves are used for both wheels on the rear axle.

The high-pressure/return pump (m1) integrated in the hydraulic unit (A7/3) is used to return the brake fluid In the pressure reduction phase. In the ABS control phase it is not possible to increase the pressure compared with the pressure adjusted by the master brake cylinder.

A silencer (10) is fitted to each brake circuit to dampen delivery noise.

The low-pressure accumulators (11) take up the brake fluid in the ABS pressure reduction phase and deliver it to the high-pressure/return pumps.
