Taxi Roof Sign, Function

Interlinkage:

Automatically switching on and off the roof symbol light (E14/4)
When the taximeter (A50) is set to "FREE" the control lead to the special vehicle multifunction control module (SVMCM) (N26/9) is under power. The SVMCM switches the roof symbol light (E14/4) on. As soon as the taxi meter is switched to the calculation mode, the power is switched off to the control lead from the taximeter to the SVMCM and the SVMCM switches off the roof symbol light.

Manually switching on and off the roof symbol light
The roof sign can be switched on and off with the roof lamp switch (S13/3) when the taximeter is set to "FREE".

Switching on and off the roof symbol light with the central locking feature
When the vehicle is locked with the remote control key the roof symbol light is switched off.

When the vehicle is unlocked with the remote control key the roof symbol light is switched on if it was switched on before the car was locked. If neither a door nor the trunk is opened within 40 s after unlocking the vehicle the SVMCM switches the roof symbol light off again.


NOTE: This function can be programmed with the control module adaptation feature.


Function display
When the roof symbol light is switched on the LED in the roof lamp switch (S13/3) comes on.

Partial failure of the roof symbol light is indicated by the LED flashing.

Complete failure of the roof symbol light is indicated by the LED going out


NOTE: If the voltage is too low for more than 2 min. the SVMCM switches off the roof symbol light.
