Idle Speed Control - Electronic IFI

Design

Task
Regulating idle speed even with engine load (e.g. with or without drive position engaged or A/C compressor operating).

Function
The IFI/DFI crankshaft position sensor (L5/6) passes an alternating voltage signal to the IFI control module (N3/7). The latter calculates the engine speed, conducts a set/actual value comparison and regulates the quantity injected through the IFI fuel metering control (Y23/1) and the fuel rack.
