INSTALLATION OF CD CHANGER
Warning: Disconnect and cover negative battery terminal.
Note: If a cellular telephone is to be installed refer to WI 404.
1. Remove the left trunk liner panel, route the 3-pole connector and fiber optic cables (D2B) into the wheel well area, then reinstall the panel.
2. Remove the protective caps from the two (2) studs on the floor of the wheel well. Install the CD changer bottom bracket over the studs and install two (2) M6 nuts finger tight (Figure 1).
3. Install two (2) # 12 sheet metal screws through the holes in the vertical surface of the bracket into the clips in the trunk floor rail. Tighten all fasteners.
4. Remove shipping screws from CD changer and store the removed screws in the holes provided at the rear of the unit; cover screw holes with supplied dust covers (adhesive black dots). Set orientation to V (vertical) and lock in place using adhesive covers. Remove spacer plates from CD changer (if present).
5. Secure the CD changer into basket using four (4) M4 x 5 machine screws. Ensure proper orientation of lettering on door (Figure 2).
6. Install cover. Engage plastic hinges on top edge of bracket, then roll hinges toward back to lock.
7. Connect 3-pole connector and fiber optic cable to CD changer.
Note:
Refer to the attached S.I. for fiber optic (D2B) connection diagrams and general installation notes.
8. Secure the basket portion of the bracket to the bottom bracket using four (4) M5 x 6 screws.
9. Reconnect battery and insert magazine. Test CD function. Verify correct version coding and system configuration using HHT.
