Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Solenoid Valve, Lock-Up Clutch

LOCATION
- In the supporting body of the electrical control unit and pressed against the shift plate with a leaf spring.

TASK
- The Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) solenoid valve controls the pressure for the torque converter lock-up clutch.

DESIGN
- The PWM solenoid valve (Y3/6y6) is sealed at the valve housing of the shift plate (2a) by an O-ring (34) and a gap seal (arrow). The contact springs (32) on the solenoid valve engage in a slot in the printed conductors (33). Reliable contacting is ensured by the spring force of the contact spring (32).

FUNCTION
- It converts a pulse-width-modulated current actuated by the transmission control module (N15/3) into the corresponding hydraulic control (N15/3) into the corresponding hydraulic control pressure (p-S/torque converter lock-up).
