Working With Brake Fluid

RISK OF POISONING DUE TO INGESTION OF BRAKE FLUID
^ Anyone who drinks brake fluid should show signs of poisoning such as headaches, dizziness, stomach ache, vomiting, diarrhoea, cramp and loss of consciousness
^ A dose of more than 100 cc can be FATAL
^ Medical assistance must be sought if brake fluid is ingested

AVOIDANCE
^ Only use original container for filling and storing brake fluid
^ Under no circumstances should brake fluid be poured into drinks bottles, such as mineral water, beer etc
^ Ensure access to authorized persons only

RISK OF INJURY DUE TO CONTACT WITH BRAKE FLUID OR BRAKE FLUID SPLASHING INTO THE EYES
^ Damage to the skin can be caused if brake fluid conies into contact with unprotected skin
^ This can be prevented by wearing protective clothing such as rubber gloves if rubber gloves cannot be worn, the following points are to be observed:
- Only allow brake fluid to act on the skin for as short a time as possible, dean affected area with soap and water
- Change contaminated clothing as soon as possible
^ If brake, fluid gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water
^ If irritation persists, consult an ophtalmologist
