Function of Wiper Motor Lock-Up Protection

The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1) recognizes when the wiper motor (M6/1) is locked up by the absence of signals from the can switch.

If the motor is actuated in stage 1 the SAM switches off the motor when it has not received any signals for longer than 12 seconds.

If the motor is switched to stage 2 and the SAM does not receive any signals from the cam switch for longer than 4 seconds, the SAM first switches the motor back to stage 1. If no signals are recognized for a period of longer than 8 seconds, the SAM switches off the motor completely.
