Authentication Programming Instructions

Models 129,170, 202, 208 and 210, Model Year 1999

The cellular telephones for the above referenced models are equipped with authentication (A-Key) software, which can be enabled under direction of the cellular service provider. All telephones are shipped with the A-Key code set to zero.

To change the A-Key code, proceed as follows:

1. Enter the word "A-K-E-Y" (2-5-3-9) using the handset keypad.

2. Press FCN twice.

3. Enter the A-Key number (up to 26 digits), supplied by the carrier.

4. Press STO twice.

5. If programming was successful, "VALID" will appear in the display.

If "VALID" appears, press END.
The phone will turn off, then on again, just as it does when completing NAM programming. This stores the A-Key data.

6. If programming was not successful, "INVALID" will appear in the display. If this occurs, repeat steps 1 through 5.

This S.I. applies to the following models as of MY 1995 (earlier models may apply as well).
