Automatic Locking, Function
The initial state is that the vehicle has been unlocked with the remote control key (or with the lock switches, (USA) (J)). The automatic locking function locks the vehicle centrally with the exception of the fuel tank flap as soon as the vehicle speed exceeds a threshold of approx. 15 km/h.
The pneumatic system equipment (PSE) control module (combined, A37) recognizes that the threshold has been exceeded by evaluation of the speed signal from the CAN bus. The PSE control module pneumatically locks the doors. The function of the interior remote trunk release switch and manual trunk opening are inhibited.
The vehicle can be unlocked again by opening one of the doors from the inside or with the interior central locking switch (S6s1).
NOTE: The function can be deactivated with the central locking interior switch (S6/1s2).
