Door Contact Switches
Opening and closing the doors switches the interior lighting on and off. This function can be activated or deactivated with door contact on/off switch (N70s3). Each time the switch is actuated the lighting is switched on or off alternately. The status of this function is stored internally in the overhead control panel control module (N70) and transmitted as a CAN message. When the function is not active, the door contacts have no effect on the interior lighting.
The overhead control panel control module (N70) controls the switch-on time for the lamps.
The exit lamps are controlled by the associated door control modules, the front dome lamp (N70e1) by the overhead control panel control module (N70), the rear dome lamp (E15/3) and the D-pillar lamps (E25/3, E25/4) by the PSE control module (combined) (A37).
The table indicates which lamps in the vehicle passenger compartment react to actuation of the door contacts.
NOTE: Only exit lamps on opened doors are actuated.
Switching on the lighting has priority over switching off. Example: If terminal 15 is "ON" and the driver's door is closed while the passenger door is still open, the front dome lamp (N70e1) remains on.
