Deactivation of Anti-Theft Alarm (ATA), Function
The anti-theft alarm (ATA) can be deactivated by:
- centrally unlocking the vehicle with the remote control key
- centrally unlocking the vehicle by opening one of the front doors
- centrally unlocking the vehicle with the lock switches (only (USA), (J)),
- inserting the remote control key into the electronic ignition switch (EIS) control module (N73) when the vehicle was unlocked previously with the remote control key.
The ATA is not deactivated when the vehicle was unlocked
- with the central locking interior switch (S6/1) or
- by the emergency unlocking function.
Function sequence
The PSE control module (combined) (A37) receives the signal "unlock vehicle" via the CAN bus and then deactivates all alarm inputs. Moreover, the PSE deactivates the connected alarm devices:
- Alarm signal siren with additional battery (H3/1)
- Interior motion sensor (IMS), if connected and activated.
(NL)
The alarm signal siren with additional battery (H3/1) honks once as an acoustic signal when the ATA is deactivated.
NOTE: The deactivated ATA terminates a previously activated alarm.
