Unlocking Vehicle With Remote Control Key, Function

Illustrated On Model 210:

Remote control key set to "selective unlocking"
When the "unlock vehicle" button is pressed the remote control key sends a radio frequency and infrared signal to the corresponding receivers in the vehicle. These receive the signal and transfer the contents to the electronic ignition switch (EIS) control module (N73) via the CAN bus. The EIS checks the code for access authorization. If the check indicates that the code is valid, the EIS transfers the command for pneumatic unlocking to the PSE control module (combined) (A37) via the CAN bus.

If the vehicle was locked previously the PSE performs selective unlocking, i.e. it unlocks only the driver's door and tank flap.

If the driver's door and tank flap are already unlocked and another request to unlock is received, the PSE then performs global unlocking so that all of the remaining locking points are also unlocked.

Remote control key set to "global unlocking"
When the "unlock vehicle" button is pressed the remote control key sends the radio frequency and IR signals to the corresponding receiver in the vehicle twice immediately after one another. The result is the same as if the "unlock" button was pressed twice with the remote control key set to "selective unlocking".

Following global and selective unlocking with the remote control key the interior switches are released.
