Function of Trunk Lid Status Indicator

The status of the trunk lid is indicated by an LED in the remote trunk release switch (N72s15). If the trunk lid is open, the contact for the trunk lamp switch (S17/8) is closed. The switch position is read in by the PSE control module (combined) (A37).

The PSE transmits a CAN message to the lower control panel control module (N72). The lower control panel control module actuates the LED in the remote trunk release switch (N72s15). If the push button unit illumination (circuit 58d) is switched on the LED is actuated with a low current (day/night feature).
