Disposing of Shock Absorber





NOTE: C Class shown, others similar

WARNING:
^ Risk of injury from drilling gas filled units or components (gas fill is not inflammable)
^ Wear safety glasses and safety mask

1. Remove protective tube and stop rubber from shock absorber
2. Drill shock absorber tube approx. 55 mm (dimension A) from the upper edge of the shock absorber tube with a 5 mm, or equivalent, diameter drill (gas escapes)
- Shock absorber version: Twin tube damper
- Drill through outer and inner tube
3. Press in and pull out piston rod as far as the stop
4. Pump the shock absorber empty by pressing in the piston rod several times

NOTE: Properly dispose of hydraulic fluid

5. Dispose of shock absorber (old part)
