Replacement






NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

REMOVAL

NOTE: The vehicle must be on its wheels for removing the upper shock absorber fixing.

1. Remove cap (11e)
2. Using socket wrench tool No. 202 589 00 09 00, remove nuts (11a and 11p), then detach upper shock absorber fixing.
3. Remove plate (11b) and rubber mount (11c)
4. Raise vehicle
5. Detach shock absorber (11) from wishbone (31) and remove downwards
6. Remove mounting parts (11y, 11d, 11f, 11h) of shock absorber (11)
- Check mounting parts (11d, 11f, and 11h) for damage and cracks.
7. Check shock absorber. Testing and Inspection

INSTALLATION
- Install in reverse order, noting the following:
- Replace self-locking nuts
- Tighten the following components as noted:
- Nut, shock absorber to front end: 18 Nm
- Lock nut, shock absorber to front end: 30 Nm
- Self-locking nut, shock absorber to wishbone: 55 Nm
