Kickdown Switch

LOCATION
- The kickdown switch (S16/6) is located behind the accelerator pedal in the footwell.

TASK
- To influence the shift program of the electronic transmission control.

DESIGN
- The kickdown switch (S16/6) consists of a spring-loaded electrical switch contact.

FUNCTION
- After the kickdown switch (S16/6) has been operated via the accelerator pedal, an electrical signal is transmitted to the transmission control module (N15/3).

- Based on this electrical signal, the transmission control module (N15/3) actuates the electrical control unit so that the shift points for upshifting are set just before the maximum speed of the engine.
