Actuating Lock Switch, Function

Illustrated On Model 210:

The left front door lock switch (CF) (S86/1) on vehicles with left-hand steering or the right front door lock switch (CF) (S86/2) on the vehicles with right-hand steering as well as the trunk lid lock switch (CF) (S88/2) can be actuated with the mechanical key. This locks or unlocks the vehicle. The anti-theft alarm (ATA) is also activated or deactivated. Actuation of the lock switch in the driver's door is read in by the front driver-side door control module (N69/1). The door control module transmits the command to lock or unlock the vehicle to the PSE control module (combined) (A37) via the CAN bus. Actuation of the lock switch in the trunk lid is recognized directly by the PSE control module. The PSE control module then locks/unlocks the vehicle pneumatically. This is confirmed by the turn signals and the interior switches are released in the same way as when the vehicle is locked or unlocked with remote control key.
