Emergency Alarm, Function

The taxi emergency alarm is a protective device far taxi drivers. It can be activated by the driver when he is threatened.
The taxi alarm system has two alarm stages:
Stage 1: Silent alarm
The silent alarm can be actuated by pressing the emergency alarm activation button (S62/6) once. The following functions are performed:
- Roof symbol light (E14/4) starts to flash
- The two-way radio (A49) is switched to the monitor mode
The silent alarm is intended to prevent the person threatening the taxi driver from noticing that the alarm has been actuated.
Stage 2: Active alarm
The active alarm can be actuated by pressing the emergency alarm activation button (S62/6) twice. The following functions are performed:
- Roof symbol light (E14/4) starts to flash
- The two-way radio (A49) is switched to the monitor mode
- The alarm horn (H3) honks
- The high beam headlamps flash
- The hazard warning signals are switched on
- The rear dome lamp (E15/3) is switched on
- On model 210 with code 930 (taxi emergency call) a taxi emergency call is activated.
NOTE: It is possible to switch off the silent alarm feature with the hand-held tester (HHT) so that an active alarm is actuated when the emergency alarm activation switch (S62/6) is pressed only once.
Cancellation of the alarm is possible by pressing the emergency alarm cancellation switch (S62/6) once regardless of the alarm state actuated.
All systems affected by an actuated alarm are reset to the previous state when the alarm is canceled.
Versions:
All functions specified previously can be activated or deactivated separately with the aid of the hand-held tester (HHT) using the control module adaptation feature to take into consideration specific national regulations.
