Sun Visor Mirror Cover Broken or Vanity Light Inoperative

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the sun visor mirror cover being broken or vanity light inoperative, replace the vanity mirror cassette per the below steps. On model 210 and 211 vehicles only, if only the vanity light is inoperative, replace only the microswitch.

1. Open sun visor mirror cover

2. Using a plastic wedge, unclip the original vanity mirror cassette at the positions identified by the arrows (Figure 1 - 230 or Figure 2 - 210/211/215 and 220).

3. For Model 210 (as of Model Year 2000) and Model 211 only, the microswitch (Figure 3, arrow) is available separately. If the microswitch is not functioning, detach microswitch from bracket, unplug connector from microswitch, plug connector into new microswitch and reattach microswitch to bracket.

4. For Model 210 (up to model year 1999), detach wires from microswitch on back of mirror (Figure 4, arrow) and connect wires to microswitch on the replacement mirror cassette.

5. Close sun visor mirror cover on the new spare part (otherwise the microswitch will be damaged).

Note:
If the microswitch is not functioning (model 210 or 211 only), it is not necessary to replace existing vanity mirror cassette.

6. Place the new vanity mirror cassette in sun visor and clip in place by hand.

7. Check that the vanity mirror cassette is correctly latched in the support points identified by the circles (Figure 5 - 230 or Figure 6 - 210/211/215 and 220).

8. Perform function check of mirror light and microswitch.
