Function

The ATA is a contact controlled system with acoustic and optical alarm signal.
The ATA control module and the pneumatic system equipment (A37) are consolidated to form one component. The various signals from the infrared remote central locking control module (N54) are transferred by a data bus (CAN) between the multifunction control module (N10) and PSE (A37).

NOTE: The ATA can only be activated and deactivated with the infrared remote control module (N54) except (USA) and (J). On (USA) and (J) versions the ATA can still be activated and deactivated with the mechanical key.

The signals of the (USA) and (J) versions are transferred from the lock switches to the infrared remote central locking control module (N54) and then to the multifunction control module (N10) (see system network for (USA) and (J) versions).

The alarm is activated via lock switch 2 (SN2, ground). The ATA can be deactivated via lock switch 1 (SN1, 40 Hz).

Activation with IRCL remote control key

When the vehicle is locked with the IRCL remote control key the "Lock" signal is transferred from the IRCL control module (N54) to the multifunction control module (N10). From here the signal is transferred to the pneumatic system equipment PSE (A37) via a data bus (CAN).
After this signal has been received the status of the alarm inputs is checked cyclically (0.5s). If 20 queries in sequence (10s) indicate the non-actuated state, the corresponding alarm input is set to stand-by.
The ATA and, if installed, the infrared interior motion sensor (IMS) and anti-towing sensor (TS) are activated by the "Lock" signal via the pneumatic system equipment (A37).

Deactivation

The ATA, infrared interior motion sensor (IMS) and anti-towing sensor (TS) are switched off by the "Unlock" signal.

NOTE: If the vehicle is unlocked with the mechanical key the ATA is tripped when a door is opened, etc., when the vehicle was locked previously with the IRCL remote control key (except (USA) and (J)).

Status indicator

When the ATA is activated an ATA status indicator integrated into the infrared (IR)/anti-towing sensor (TS)/anti-theft alarm (ATA) (S85/2) flashes at a frequency of 1 Hz.

Alarm trip

An alarm is tripped when an input set to stand-by status such as the trunk lid or door inputs, is no longer in the non-actuated state for two polling cycles in sequence.
A tripped alarm can be interrupted by the "Unlock" signal from the IRCL remote control key and the ATA is deactivated.

When the switch on the front dome lamp (E15/2) is switched to the door contact position, both dome lamps (E15/2, E15/3) come on as long as the optical alarm is present.

Fog lamp switch-on circuit, (USA) only

With this ATA version the fog lamps are switched on after locking the vehicle for a time, which can be programmed with the HHT, max. 120 s.
The prerequisite for this is that the lights were switched on previously.
This circuit serves for illuminating the area, e.g. parking lot, when leaving the vehicle.
The duration of the switch-on time for the fog lamps can be changed with the HHT.
