Remove/Install Oil-Water Heat Exchanger At Oil Filter

Shown On Engine 112 Without Air Pump:

1 Remove engine trim panel or air cleaner

NOTE: Detach engine cover or air cleaner by lifting vertically up and off the cylinder head covers.

2 Remove viscous fan (1)

NOTE: Right-hand thread!

3 Remove fan shroud (2).

NOTE: On model 163 unscrew bolts at bottom of fan shroud.

4 Remove oil pipes at oil-water heat exchange

NOTE: Only model 463.243/246.

5 Unscrew oil filter housing cover (3)

DANGER:
- Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.
- Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.
- Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

6 Drain coolant at radiator

NOTE: Model 163: For draining coolant remove bottom coolant line from radiator or coolant pump.

7 Remove coolant line (4, 5) from oil-water heat exchanger (6)
8 Remove air pump

NOTE: Only for engines with air pump.

9 Detach oil-water heat exchanger (6) from oil filter housing

CAUTION: Installation: Install new sealing rings (7).

10 Install in the reverse order
11 Inspect cooling system for leaks.
