General
The active service system is operated with the Reset button of the instrument cluster (A1), which is located on the left-hand side (Models 208, 210) or on the right-hand side (Models 215, 220) of the instrument cluster (A1), and with the scroll forward/back pushbutton (S110s1) as well as the system selection pushbutton (S110s3) of the multifunction steering wheel.

Service display at driver request
- Start switch in position "1", "2" or driving.
- Continue operating system select pushbutton (S110s3) until the basic image (total distance and trip counter) appear in the multifunction display (A1p13). (Only necessary if the basic image is not yet displayed.)
- Continue operating scroll forward/back pushbutton (S110s1) until the service symbol and the current remaining distance, the remaining time or service exceeded appears.

Displaying engine oil level
- Turn ignition/starter switch in position "2"
- Continue operating system select pushbutton (S110s3) until the basic image (total distance and trip counter) appear in the multifunction display (A1p13). (Only necessary if the basic image is not yet displayed.)
- Continue operating scroll forward/back pushbutton (S110s1) until the oil can symbol and the message "ENGINE OIL LEVEL CAR MUST BE LEVEL" appear in the multifunction display (A1p13)
- If the car is not level: Interrupt measurement by again pressing this pushbutton within 3 s..
- If the measurement is not interrupted, the message "ENGINE OIL LEVEL MEASUREMENT IN PROGRESS" appears after about 3 s and, after this, the current oil level message. If the car is not level during the measurement, this can result in incorrect measurements.

Resetting ASSYST after oil change (oil change reset) at instrument cluster (A1)


NOTE: Reset ASSYST (oil change reset) only after an oil change has been carriedout!


The oil change reset should be carried out, if possible, with the Star Diagnosis tool!
- Move switch into position "1".
- Continue operating system select pushbutton (S110s3) until the basic image (total distance and trip counter) appear in the multifunction display (A1p13). (Only necessary if the basic image is not yet displayed.)
- Continue operating scroll forward/back pushbutton (S11Os1) until the service symbol and the current remaining distance, the remaining time or service exceeded appears.
- Press Reset button at instrument cluster (A1) for about 3 seconds until the question "DO YOU WISH TO RESET SERVICE INTERVAL? CONFIRM WITH R BUTTON" appears in the multifunction display (A1p13).
- Once again press Reset button at instrument cluster (A1) within 5 s.
- The current "remaining distance" of 15 000 kilometers or 10 000 miles appears in the multifunction display (A1p13).


NOTE: An oil change reset which has been carried out inadvertently, can only be cancelled with the Star Diagnosis tool.
