NOTE: Under no circumstances should the power steering pump draw in air

1. Fill power steering reservoir up to approx. 10 mm below the upper edge of the reservoir
- On models without level control, use MB steering gear oil, or equivalent
- On models with level control, use MB central hydraulic fluid system fluid, or equivalent.
2. Start engine 2-3 times
- The steering system bleeds itself automatically
3. Turn the steering from lock to lock several times with the engine running, in between topping up the steering gear or central hydraulic fluid system, as equipped
4. Check and correct oil level
5. Check steering system for leaks
- If the oil level is too low, establish and eliminate the cause
