Center Assembly (Differential) Rubber Mounts
REPLACEMENT
1. Remove rear axle center (differential) assembly (50)
2. Replace rubber mounts of rear axle center assembly suspension as follows:
Front Mounting:
a. Install rubber mount (60b) and short 14 mm disk (60a) at top in rear axle carrier (1).
b. Install rubber mount with guide collar (60c) and long 17 mm disk (60d) at bottom.
- Ensure that the bearing is properly seated.
c. Install assigned shim (60e) between disk (60d) and rear axle center assembly (50).
d. Replace self-locking hexagon nut (52) and install rear axle center assembly (50) on rear axle carrier (1).
Rear Mountings
a. Pull both rubber mounts (62) forward and out of rear axle carrier using parts 15 and 16 of extractor/puller 210 589 02 43 00 (015, 016).
b. Pull both rubber mounts (62) into rear axle carrier using parts 07 and 15 of extractor/puller tool No. 210 589 02 43 00 until the puller disk (07) rests against the rear axle carrier (arrow) (07, 015)
3. Check and correct installed position of center assembly in rear axle carrier using checking device (01) of extractor/puller (06, 015) as follows:
a. Attach checking device (01) with spacers (part 06) and thrust pieces (part 15) on both sides and tighten slightly
b. Pull both rubber mounts (62) evenly into rear axle carrier until the pin (arrow) of the checking device (01) is centrally located in the bore in the cross member
4. Install remaining components in reverse sequence
- Replace self-locking hexagon bolts and nuts
