Function of Windshield Wiper Automatic Speed Reduction

The signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM) (N10/1) receives CAN messages with information on the vehicle speed.
If the vehicle speed stops below a value of 5 km/h, the SAM switches the windshield wiper back one speed stage.
- If wiper stage 2 is selected it is switched to stage 1. If stage 1 is selected the intermittent wiping function is switched on.
- If the intermittent wiping function is switched on the automatic speed reduction increases the intermittent time by 1.5 seconds.

When the speed increases to a value above 8 km/h the SAM switches back to the previously selected stage.


NOTE: The automatic speed reduction function can be programmed out with the HHT by means of version coding.
