AR42.10-P-0015I Check Braking System for Leaks Using Pressure Tester
Preparation
1. Unscrew bleed screw an brake caliper and connect pressure tester (051)
CAUTION: Pressure testers for hydraulic fluid systems should not be used for systems with brake fluid as brake fluid is mixed with mineral oil which may lead to brake failure
NOTE: After the test, only bleed the brake caliper to which the pressure tester was connected.
2. Bleed pressure tester (051)
High-Pressure Testing
3. Allow the engine to run at moderate speed and produce the highest possible vacuum by releasing the accelerator pedal suddenly.
4. Depress brake pedal as far as possible with the brake pedal locking device (080) tool No 000 589 18 31 00.
- The pressure drop must not exceed 5 percent of the adjusted value during the test period of 5 minutes.
Low-Pressure Testing
5. Switch-off engine and operate brake pedal until the vacuum is eliminated.
6. Reset brake pedal locking device (080) until a line pressure of approx. 3 bar is still displayed on the pressure gauge.
- The line pressure must not drop during the test period of 2 minutes.
7. Bleed brake system front fixed caliper.
- Tighten bleed screw to 7 NM
