Work on Supplemental Restraint System Control Module
In the above listed models, the supplemental restraint system control module is equipped with a rollover sensor. If this module is unfastened in the course of working on the vehicle, tilting it either way from the normal horizontal position with the Smartkey (or equivalent KeylessGo key/card position) turned to position 1 or 2 could trigger the side airbags and window airbags resulting in personal injury and high repair costs. Therefore, always disconnect the battery ground cables even if the SRS module only needs to be moved away from its normal installed location for accessibility reasons.
Warning!
Always disconnect the battery when working on the supplemental restraint system to avoid inadvertent airbag deployment and personal injury.
