Torque Converter
TASK
- To reduce the power flow between the engine and automatic transmission to a minimum when the vehicle is stationary and at idle speed. To increase the engine torque and equalize the engine speed and torque without any steps when starting off.
DESIGN
- The input rotor (P) is connected to the engine, and the output rotor (T) is connected to transmission input shaft.
- The stator (L) is connected to the transmission housing via a freewheel and stator shaft (8).
