Function
The D2B interface for portable mobile telephone (A59/1) is switched on and off via a discrete "wake-up" line. It reacts to the descending edge (in the off state the level is at "high") and the duration of the "wake-up" signal.
NOTE: Generally the D2B interface for portable mobile telephone (A59/1) remains active for 10 seconds after switching off the D2B interface when the portable mobile telephone in the holder is switched on.
Control data received from the D2B bus is relayed to the portable mobile telephone via the D2B interface for portable mobile telephone (A59/1) with the aid discrete data buses; D2B interface for portable mobile telephone (A59/1) switches the portable mobile telephone on or off on request by the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) and transfers the functions to be performed (e.g. dialing number).
In the other direction the data from the portable mobile telephone (caller's voice, control data, telephone numbers) are transferred from the D2B interface for portable mobile telephone (A59/1) in a corresponding D2B format and relayed on to the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) (code 352) for further processing.
Charging the portable mobile telephone battery
The portable mobile telephone battery is charged as long as the D2B interface for portable mobile telephone (A59/1) is activated via the D2B bus (regardless of whether the portable mobile telephone is switched on or off).
