Cruise Control Module: Description and Operation
Distronic control module position
Below foot panel on front passenger side
Distronic control module task
Detecting vehicles ahead by means of the data supplied by the radar sensor and the additional input signals through CAN and determining the necessary control actions (reducing/increasing engine torque, braking, shifting gears). Controlling displays and warning signals
Distronic control module design
Ventilated metal casing with two 8-pin connectors and one coaxial connector for the RF cable from the radar sensor. Voltage supply protected by circuit 87.
Distronic control module function
The analog radar sensor data are filtered and digitalized. Speed, distance, angle and lane of objects detected are calculated and compared with own vehicle speed. This makes it possible to detect a vehicle ahead.
