Function
On automatic transmission 722.6 the electrohydraulic control unit converts the electrical signals originating from the electronic transmission control (ETC) into hydraulic signals.

Faults occurring in the ETC control module (N15/3) are covered by the emergency running mode system. It is designed so that the driver can reach a service operation even under extreme conditions.

Selector lever positions < P >, < R >, < N > and < D > are mechanically passed on to the range selector lever on the transmission side by means of a control cable in parallel to transmission via CAN. By pressing or holding the selector lever towards < + > and < - > the shift range is preselected and displayed in the instrument cluster (A1) until a transmission upshift is possible.
