Location

The floor selector is located in the center console of the vehicle.

Task

The floor selector is the central control for the driver to influence the shift program of the automatic transmission.

Design

The following components are integrated in the floor selector:
- Selector diagram symbols with program selection button
- Electronic shift lever module control module (N15/5)
- Lock of selector lever position < R > and < P >
- Shift detent mechanism

Function

The selector lever is guided and positioned in the shift gate. All selector lever positions are recognized by the electronic shift lever module control module (N15/5), coded and transmitted to the ETC control module (N15/3) via CAN. Selector lever positions < P >, < R >, < N > and < D > are passed on mechanically to the range selector lever on the transmission side by means of a control cable, in parallel with the transmission via CAN.
