Location
The position indicator (gear display A1p12) is located in the instrument cluster (A1). Selector diagram symbols are housed in the floor selector.

Task
To visually display the position of the selector lever or the selected shift range and the program selection made at the W/S program selection button (the gear currently shifted is not displayed). The possible selector lever positions and their sequence are shown symbolically via the selector diagram symbols.

Function
The position indicator and program selection indicator (gear display A1p12) in the instrument cluster (A1) is actuated by the ETC control module (N15/3) via the engine compartment bus (CAN C). The program selection made at the W/S program selection button remains stored after a driving time of approx. 1 minute and is then displayed again after the engine is started again. The required driving time of approx. 1 minute is due to the system.
The selector diagram symbols are illuminated when the driving lights are switched on.
