Location
The shift detent mechanism is integrated in the floor selector.
Task
To fix the selector lever position < D >.
Design
The shift detent mechanism consists of a plastic body (83) rigidly connected to the selector lever, a metal roller (84) clamped in it and a leaf spring (85) with a recess.
Function
When the selector lever is moved out off selector lever position < N > into position < D >, the roller (84) engages in the recess in the leaf spring. The longitudinal movement of the selector lever is locked in position.
The transverse movement (touch shift towards < + > and < - >) remains possible. The spring (82) pushes the selector lever (80) back into its initial position after the touch shift is complete.
