Explanations/Color Codes
Wiring diagrams
- The wiring diagrams are compiled as system block diagrams or control module diagrams and are structured as follows:
- System block diagrams
All the control modules which participate in the system, e.g., ESP, are presented as a block. Components which are connected to the control modules for system or function reasons are stated together with a direction arrow.
- Control module diagrams
Control modules are presented in full with all the components connected, the feed of the control module being stated as a prefix.
The wiring diagrams also contain linkages of possible versions and functions.
Linkages are framed, recognizable as versions, and provided with an abbreviated designation/abbreviation.
- The versions marked with the abbreviated designation "U", are listed in the legends (component grid location images). Explanatory notes on identification of versions with abbreviations such as ETS can be found in the section "Acronyms/Abbreviations For Wiring Diagrams". Acronyms/Abbreviations For Wiring Diagrams
The signal and circuit designations used are explained in the section "Abbreviations of Signal and Circuit Designations". Abbreviations of Signal and Circuit Designations
- The vehicle identification end numbers or production breakpoint dates stated apply to the introduction of the main series. Preseries vehicles may have a lower vehicle identification end number or an earlier production breakpoint date.
- Cable cross sections may differ from that shown in the wiring diagrams.

- Special features for ALLDATA presentation
In contrast to the presentation on paper, ALLDATA offers the possibility of selecting certain ranges (green surround) and thus jumping to other documents and wiring diagrams.
