AR42.20-P-0525A Remove/Install Rear Brake Control Cable







NOTE: For model name/model number cross reference refer to Model Designation Table. Application and ID

Removal
1. Remove, install parking brake shoes, refer to Replacement. Removal and Replacement
2. Detach return spring (94).
3. Model 129 or 170, loosen adjustment screw (89).
4. Detach front brake cable (85) on intermediate lever (91).
- Model 129 or 170, replace self-locking bolt (93).
5. Detach brake control cables (86) on compensating lever (92).
6. Detach brake control cables (86) on frame floor.
- Models 170, 202 or 208, use clip remover tool No. 210 129 589 11 63 00 (043).
- The brake control cable can also be removed by destroying the clamping ring (84).
7. Unscrew self-locking bolt (98) on wheel carrier.
8. Remove brake control cable (86).

Installation
9. Install in reverse sequence, noting the following:
- To install brake control cable if clamping ring was destroyed during removal, insert new clamping ring into the groove of the brake control cable
- Replace self-locking bolt (98).
- Tighten self-locking bolt of brake control cable at rear wheel carrier to: 20 Nm
